Abstract:
As a result of chronic gastroesophageal reflux illness, the normal squamous epithelium in Barrett’s oesophagus is replaced by a metaplastic columnar epithelium. There is a significant link to esophageal adenocarcinoma. The progression of Barrett’s oesophagus toward esophageal adenocarcinoma needs to get more attention in light of the rising incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma in the western world.Numerous molecular variables that contribute to the progression of adenocarcinoma have recently been discovered. This may aid in the future detection of new targets for the prevention and treatment of esophageal cancer as well as the identification of patients who are at risk.
